Stray Dogs in front of Lunkad Skylounge society

Nuisance every morning for parents waiting for bus to send their children to their schools.

The cross road in front of Lunkad skylounge, lane 7,  has become a nuisance with 8-10 stray dogs roaming around.

It is dangerous  as small children tend to run when they see dogs.

It is sad that a few residents were seen feeding these stray dogs bread slices and leftovers. These are some of the reasons that the number of dogs is increasing and causing danger to the passer bys, drivers and children in that area.

As per supreme court, any one feeding stray dogs will be fined Rs 500/- by the local municipal authorities.

  2. Since municipal authorities do nothing to contain the stray dog population in the city (as can be seen by the way the strays have increased all over Pune) we as citizens can do our part by learning to live with the animals in our neighborhood.Show the animals a little love & respect and they will be your loyal friends for life. Many of those you see feeding the dogs are doing our locality a huge favour by using their own resources time & energy to vaccinate and sterilize these dogs. Parents can teach your kids not to fear these strays most of them are harmless and your children will learn valuable lessons in tolerance and respect for all forms of living beings.

  3. I second Suzie.

"As per supreme court, any one feeding stray dogs will be fined Rs 500/- by the local municipal authorities." - On the contrary, stray animals being harmed in any way can face jail sentences. Animal Rights groups are trying to help the PMC with the CNVR programme - Capture, Neuter, Vaccinate and Release animals. In a country like ours where garbage is always available, there will always be stray animals on the streets - including cats and dogs. Feeding neutered dogs and cats are actually good for the locality as they keep the rat population and associated diseases at bay.

  4. Please help get strays in your areas in KN Neutered/Sterilized and Vaccinated. This alone can halt the dog population as these are fiercely territorial animals and will not let other new dogs move in.
